Our 2021 Parr Mourvèdre is sourced from the Parr's vineyard in what is soon-to-be a new AVA (American Viticultural Area) called the Hickory Sands. While we're really excited about that area getting the recognition it deserves, we're even more excited to release the next vintage of one of our favorite wines. 2021 was an exceptionally wet, cool summer with harvest happening on an exceptionally cool morning (46F) in late September. The cool weather allowed us to hang the fruit later into the fall without building too much sugar, allowing us to make a wine of moderate alcohol, ripe fruit and the freshness we find super important to a wines longevity. Aged in concrete tanks for 8 months before bottling. An elegant wine with notes of fresh raspberries, iron, anise and mushrooms. Slightly gamey with soft texture, ready to drink now. Have it with duck al pastor tacos.
